YOUTH PASTOR / YOUTH WORKER POSITION
WHO WE ARE:
Grace City Church is a dual campus church with the mission to embrace God’s vision for us through: Worshipping fervently, witnessing boldly and walking the extra mile.
We are currently looking to employ a Youth Pastor / Youth Worker to extend our SALT Youth Ministry that has been birthed more than a year ago. The youth group provides a fun and safe environment for our young people to pursue God, and build themselves up with the goal to reach out to our local community. The applicant must be a fervent believer of Jesus Christ, and able to adopt the values of Grace City Church.
ARE YOU WHOM WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
The applicant for the role must have a passion in serving in the area of youth, and have a nurturing and outgoing quality to empower our young people to impact the community. He or she must have the know-how to prepare the curriculum for the year, ability to be creative in getting the youths involved in external outreach activities, diligently gearing towards a youth service, but most of all have a unwavering love for Christ and His people.
The 20 hour week would include the organization and facilitation of the current youth group members (Year 7 – Uni) from our Osborne Park and Nollamara campuses, with a possibility of moving into full time hours by extending your work portfolio in the area of the young adults ministry, community outreaches in the local high schools & liaison work with local Chaplains. Currently there are about 20 enthusiastic and fun loving students who regularly attend our Sunday afternoon youth program.
The pastoral team, youth leaders, together with parents of the youth group are committed to providing ongoing support, pastoral mentorship, and assistance to the successful candidate.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The role includes:
* Attendance of weekly Sunday service
* Running of weekly Sunday youth program
* Report to Senior Pastor on the progress of the youth group
* Follow up on members who require extra attention
* Communicate and exchange feedback with parents
SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
* Provide leadership qualities
* Valid Australian working with children card
* Ability to work with multicultural demographics
* Proven ability to work with young people and parents
